Key Responsibilities 

  • Take ownership of financial management on projects, ensuring commercial success through accurate reporting and cost control.
  • Report directly to the Commercial Manager ensuring seamless communication and alignment on all financial aspects of projects
  • Manage subcontractor packages, oversee payments, and ensure compliance with agreed terms and budgets.
  • Monitor and report on project expenditure, budgets, and variations to ensure financial performance is optimised.
  • Support the QS team with monthly valuations, variations, cost reports, cashflow forecasting and strategic financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements, providing expertise in contract management and negotiation.
  • Work closely with site teams, project managers, and stakeholders to drive efficiencies and enhance commercial performance.
  • Contribute to business improvement initiatives, helping to refine reporting systems and commercial strategies.
  • Mentor and support QS team members, fostering a high-performance culture within the commercial team.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with 5+ years’ post-graduate experience.
  • Proven experience managing subcontractor accounts and contract negotiation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver financial reports with accuracy and clarity.
  • Excellent knowledge of PWC & RIAI form of contracts and experience in the main contracting market.
  • Highly numerate, with an analytical mindset and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel and Cubit, with the ability to manage and interpret financial data.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach with a drive to deliver the best commercial outcomes.

  • Report regularly to senior leadership on safety KPIs, legal compliance, and strategic risks.

Key requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role (preferably construction).
  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g. Diploma, Degree, or equivalent).
  •  Strong knowledge of Irish construction safety legislation and industry Codes of Practice.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 systems and permit-to-work processes.
  • Familiarity with Hammertech, Procore, or similar systems an advantage.
  • Ability to conduct audits, deliver training, and communicate effectively on-site.
  • Confident in liaising with the HSA and external bodies when required.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a collaborative approach.
  • Full clean Irish driving licence essential.

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Manage and coordinate the work of external designers, design consultants, and specialist subcontractors to ensure timely and compliant delivery of design information.
  • Facilitate the design process from tender stage through to construction, ensuring alignment with client requirements, programme constraints, and statutory obligations.
  • Oversee and manage the flow of design information through Building Information Modelling (BIM) platforms, ensuring accurate and coordinated data across the project team.
  • Review and track design submissions, identifying issues, coordinating responses, and ensuring clarity for the construction team.
  • Chair and document design coordination meetings, tracking actions and managing close-out of design queries.
  • Liaise between external designers, project teams, and site teams to resolve technical challenges and support buildability reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records of design decisions, approvals, and changes in accordance with document control procedures.
  • Support value engineering exercises and ensure design solutions meet cost, quality, and programme objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and sharing best practices across the organisation.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • 3+ years in a similar design coordination or design management role, ideally with a main contractor.
  • Degree (Level 8 or higher) in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Solid understanding of BIM Tools and Digital design coordination.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and design coordination principles.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and software platforms.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and document control systems
  • Full clean Irish Driving licence required.
